I've added a second layer to the received piece. The two layers are separated by a system of longer tubing at alternating heights of that are strategically placed within the original network. The resulting deformation is the result of the internal resistance of the two membranes played against each other. the gap between the two layers is activated by a web of thicker gauge elastic string (this also helps reduce the apparent singularity of the longer tubes by creating a denser field between the two membranes. I've also noticed that when you begin to play the two systems against each other, the internal webbing functions as a way of augmenting the visual index of any distortions of the system.
